Summary

Begining January 1, 2009, automatically adjusts the state minimum wage for inflation. The adjustment would be made annually by multiplying the minimum wage by the previous year's percentage of inflation.

Background

Under existing law, the minimum wage is $7.50 per hour on and after January 1, 2007, and $8.00 per hour on and after January 1, 2008. The Industrial Welfare Commission to can adjust the wage.
