Summary


Would assist with the implementation and enforcement
of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Background


Existing federal law, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990,
prohibits the discrimination against an individual with a disability
on the basis of that disability in specified situations, including
employment opportunities, and access to public accommodations,
services, and transportation.

What is the point of passing a resolution that it is the intention to do something? Don't waste the time. Put together the real legislation and quit grandstanding. IMHO.

This remains a Spot Bill - Just in case, as it were. Not a bad thing, given the rules and required timing of the California process.

This is a spot Bill issued By Wolk's office as insurance against a negative ADA/CA Access Bill. Meetings have been held by the usual parties through the summer and fall - we wait for the shoe drop.....BTW - even though we watch this spot bill -we support Lois's efforts to protect Access Rights.
